Ranchi Tops Tier-III Cities In Creating Jobs In Q4: Report

Ranchi: Ranchi, the capital of Jharkhand state, rose to the top as a Tier III city employer in the final quarter of the 2010-11 fiscal year, according to a research report released Monday.

Ranchi tops the list with a 17.8% share, followed by Mangalore and Mysore with 13.9% each, new employment centres in Tier II and Tier III cities, according to India’s Associated Chamber of Commerce (Assocham) .


Pune emerged as the top job provider in Tier 2 cities from January to March 2011, with the top 5 sectors generating jobs including IT, ITeS, Banking, Education and Automobiles. said to the report.
In publishing this study, Assocham Executive Director D.S. Rawat: “Among Tier III cities, Ranchi has emerged as the top employer….” Electronics and telecommunications are among the top five sectors offering the greatest employment prospects.


For Mangalore, the top five sectors are engineering, energy, banking, insurance and FMCG. In Mysore, the top five sectors are Automotive, Insurance, Pharmaceuticals, Manufacturing and Education.
